Jazz in July @ Queen's Hall

The first Jazz in July runs July 25 & 26 at Queen's Hall, headlined by New York-based vocalist Cheryl Pepsii Riley, a jazz fusion singer and actress, with her five-piece band (including Trinidadian drummer Dean James).

In addition to singing, Riley is known for appearances as an actress in Tyler Perry's theatrical productions of Why Did I Get Married (the play); Medea’s Class Reunion (the play), and over a dozen other stage and screen credits.

Complimenting the visiting songstress are a core of stellar local "world" music and jazz artists including Mungal Patasar and Pantar; New York-based Trinidadian jazz fusion artiste R’kardo St’Von; Trinidad female jazz vocalists Glenda Collens, Pattie Rogers and Vaughnette Bickford; pannists Dane Gulston and Nigel Supersad; and guitarist Theron Shaw, leading the accompanying band for the local performers that weekend.
